Survey shows most people are camera shy; Fujifilm U.S.A. launches Best Face Forward website

More than 73 percent of women and almost 50 percent of men feel uneasy in front of a camera, according to the results of a survey conducted recently by Fujifilm U.S.A. Inc., Valhalla, N.Y., which commissioned the study to learn why so many people are apprehensive when asked to smile for a picture. Attention to detail quiets the jitters for many portrait sitters. Respondents identified weight and hairstyle concerns as their main reasons for "picture phobia." In fact, 44 percent surveyed preferred to do laundry, 34 percent would rather pay bills, and 18 percent would rather visit the dentist than pose for a picture. Feeling better about appearance (52.9 percent), help with hair and make-up (35.9 percent), having the right clothes (26.3 percent) and/or including family and friends in the picture (27.1 percent) topped the list. Fujifilm U.S.A. has launched its Best Face Forward website, serving as an information hub for looking great in photos.

Here's some info on the "norovirus" that is taking New England by storm. Please take of yourselves and stay healthy!

Symptoms of norovirus illness usually begin about 24 to 48 hours after ingestion of the virus, but they can appear as early as 12 hours after exposure.... [they] are very contagious and can spread easily from person to person. Both stool and vomit are infectious. Particular care should be taken with young children in diapers who may have diarrhea. People infected with norovirus are contagious from the moment they begin feeling ill to at least 3 days after recovery. Some people may be contagious for as long as 2 weeks after recovery. Therefore, it is particularly important for people to use good handwashing and other hygienic practices after they have recently recovered from norovirus illness.
